What's Your Style?

Greetings mixed media artists, art journalers, fabric, and altered book artists.  This month Art Journal Journey has two hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth.  You can find us at Altered Book Lover.  Bleubeard is the beautiful face of our blog.  He provides the moral support and I provide the art.

Bleubeard and I are asking What's Your Style?  We have provided lots of examples in case you need inspiration.

Many of you are here because you are a mixed media artist or art journaler.  You will immediately know names like Lynne Perrella, Dyan Reaveley, Dina Wakely, Tim Holtz, and Seth Apter.  They each have a very distinct style that can't be confused with any other artist.  You can conjure up their style just by thinking their names.

You may have your own specific style, where you rely heavily on abstracts, architecture, travel, drips and splatters, nature, stamping (both commercial and hand carved), stencils, watercolor paints and pencils, words, or backgrounds.  Remember that digital art and sewing on your pages or fabric are always welcome.

However, maybe you're like me, and don't have a specific style.  You might even have a different style for every day of the month.  Regardless, Bleubeard and I want you to share your own style or styles this month.  We look forward to seeing what you conjure up. Please don't forget to read the dreaded rules.  There are no size requirements now, but we still don't allow cards, ATC, etc.  Just journal pages, please.

  11. Sorry only just realised that you like to have a comment to say we have been. How rude of me. I'm generally a lurker here but this month you actually have links to 2 of my recent pages. All very experimental which to my mind is just what a journal is for! Take Care and Have Fun
