Recycle, reuse, repurpose

First, Bleubeard and I must thank Valerie for being a fabulous host in March.  Thank you Valerie for not only being a great host, but also for being an integral part of Art Journal Journey.

Many of you know us as Bleubeard and Elizabeth.  You more than likely know us from our blog Altered Book Lover.  Every year in April, we focus on ways to save the planet.  This year we will do it in our journal pages.  We plan to recycle, reuse, and repurpose and we hope you will, too.

Recycle a portion of that beloved birthday or Christmas card, reuse those patterned security envelopes, repurpose those cardboard boxes Amazon is so famous for, or those 512 used tea bags you’ve been hoarding.  Turn them into collage fodder for your art journals.  While you’re at it, let us know what you recycled in your entry, so we can applaud you, too.

For this entry, I recycled a used security envelope, two corrugated cardboard pieces, part of a thesaurus page from a set I picked up on trash day, a tea bag, a fortune, a leftover circle, a leftover foreign square, and the Le Coq, which was fussy cut from a gifted playing card.  These were all sewn in place with new thread.

Bleubeard and I look forward to seeing your entries as you recycle, reuse, and/or repurpose art in your own art journal.

Please don't forget to read the Dreaded Rules. NO CARDS unless part of a larger journal page!
